1. Who we are

The Prevent Quality Mark training platform is operated by NSTN Ltd (“NSTN”, “we”, “us”), company number 15903464.

2. These terms

These terms apply to everyone who uses the platform. By accepting them, or by using the platform, you agree to them.

Each version of these terms is numbered and dated. When we make a significant change we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in, and we keep a record of which version you accepted and when. If you do not accept a new version you can stop using the platform, and your school can end its licence under section 12.

3. Who the contract is with

The licence is bought by a school or organisation, and the contract for it is between us and that school. Your school decides who receives an account.

These terms also apply to you personally as a user of the platform: they govern how you may use your account, the course material and the AI tutor. Where an obligation falls on the school rather than on you, we say so.

If you are accepting these terms on behalf of a school, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

4. Accounts

Accounts are issued by your school, or by us at your school's request. Your school decides who gets one and may remove access at any time.

Your account is for you alone. Do not share your password, and do not let anybody else use your account. Tell us at admin@nstn.co.uk if you think someone else has access to it.

The platform is intended for adults working in education and safeguarding. If a school chooses to issue an account to somebody under 18, the school remains responsible for that decision and for any consent it requires.

5. Licences and seats

A licence runs for 12 months from the date it starts and includes a set number of seats. One seat is needed for each person who takes courses.

Your school administrator assigns and reassigns seats. If a member of staff leaves, their seat can be freed and given to somebody else. Invitations can be sent when no seat is free, but the person cannot start a course until a seat is assigned to them.

When a licence expires, access to courses stops. Records are not deleted: certificates already earned remain available to download, and progress is retained so that it is still there if the licence is renewed.

6. Payment and renewal

Licences are paid for by card at the price shown when the school applies. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored on our systems.

Licences renew automatically at the end of each 12-month term unless auto-renewal is turned off before the term ends. We will remind the school before a renewal is taken.

If a renewal payment fails we will tell the school and try again. If it remains unpaid, access to courses stops as described in section 5.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Share your account or your password with anybody else
• Download, copy, record or redistribute course videos or other course material
• Try to get around the platform's security, or access parts of it or records belonging to another school
• Use the AI tutor for anything other than questions about your course
• Use the platform in a way that breaks the law or harms anybody

We may suspend an account that breaches this section, as described in section 12.

8. The AI tutor

The AI tutor answers questions about the course you are studying, using that course's own material. It is generated by software and it can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything that matters against the course material itself.

The tutor is not a counselling service and it is not a safeguarding reporting route. It is not monitored in real time, and nobody is alerted by what you type into it. If you are worried about your own or someone else's safety, speak to your designated safeguarding lead, not the tutor.

Your conversations with the tutor are saved. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to them and who can see them.

9. Course content and certificates

The course material on the platform belongs to us or to our licensors. Your licence lets the people your school assigns seats to view it for training. It does not transfer ownership and it does not allow you to reproduce or republish the material.

A certificate records that a named person completed a named course on a given date. It can be verified from the certificate itself. We may reissue a certificate if there is an error in it, and we may withdraw one that was issued in error.

10. Availability and support

We aim to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption. We may take it offline for maintenance, and we will give notice where we reasonably can.

11. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for losses arising from your own breach of these terms, or for business losses such as lost profits or lost opportunity.

The platform provides training. It does not provide legal advice, safeguarding advice for a specific case, or a substitute for your organisation's own policies and procedures. Decisions you take remain yours.

12. Suspension and ending access

We may suspend or end access to an account that breaches section 7, or where we are required to by law. Where we can, we will tell the school first.

A school may end its licence by turning off auto-renewal, which stops the licence at the end of the term it has paid for.

When access ends, certificates already earned remain available and records are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy form part of your agreement with us.
